Accessibility
As an neurodivergent person myself and user of accessibility features across my devices, I believe everyone should feel welcome. I'm committed to making this website usable and accessible to as many visitors as possible.
This site is built on Squarespace, which includes a number of accessibility features I've made use of:
Keyboard navigation — All links and interactive elements can be navigated using a keyboard. A visible focus outline highlights the active link or field as you tab through the page, and a "Skip to Content" option is available so you can bypass the header and navigation.
Structured content — Pages use proper HTML headings and landmark regions, so the layout and hierarchy of content is predictable for screen readers and other assistive technology.
Colour and contrast — Text and background colours are set with sufficient contrast to meet WCAG guidance, making content easier to read for visitors with low vision or colour vision deficiencies.
Media accessibility — Where video content appears on this site, captions are provided, and motion-safe formats are used to avoid unnecessary animation for visitors sensitive to movement.
Ongoing commitment
Accessibility is an ongoing process & journey. I review this site periodically and welcome feedback. If you encounter any barriers using this website, please get in touch via accessibility@chrismalley.co.
Limitations & Challenges
While I've aimed to follow WCAG 2.1 AA guidance where possible, no website can guarantee full accessibility for every visitor and assistive technology combination. I will be continuing to improve this site over time.
